WorkShop STOMP

STOMP Workshop format Limited participants!!! Max.30 participants/day over 16 years old
All workshops will follow a similar format over the four days, given by 2 Stompers NAOMI RICHARDS & DAVID GALLAGHER. The morning sessions will be given over to learning basic skills needed to be able to compose and perform simple routines based on the style of STOMP (basketballs, matchboxes,etc). In the afternoon, the emphasis is geared towards development of a specific routine with a focus on devising and group work and then a significant amount of rehearsal time in order to get the routine to a standard whereby it may be performed. Every day will have the goal to do a small presentation, at 18h15 for 5mto 10m, for the invited audience. Workshop Dressing: extra shoes/tennis and confortable clothes

Naomi Richards joined the cast of Stomp in 2000 and toured for 5 years with the show, all over the world. She gained a BA in performing arts, specialising in dance from the Middlesex University as well as studying and working in African and Caribbean dance forms. Naomi has been involved directly in the STOMP workshop programme for the last two years in a full time capacity. She has taught workshops in both the UK and in Europe and has undertaken to make workshops as accessible as possible to various age groups and key stages. Naomi is also an actress, with both theatre, TV and film credits, and has extensive performance experience.

David Gallagher began his STOMP career in 1997 with the formation of the first European touring company. During the next five years, he toured extensively with the show as a performer, and also took part in voluntary displays/sessions in Singapore and South Africa during his time on tour. After seeing the enthusiasm and potential for workshopping STOMP based ideas in various contexts at home and abroad, D has spent the last few years developing and refining the workshops programme. He is also a qualified teacher at Secondary level, and has used his teaching skills to enhance, develop and improve the quality of the workshop programme. D also works as a professional musician, a plasterer, and also supply teaches at the school he trained at.

STOMP & VOX LACI em S.Domingos de Rana
Fevereiro 2007 Numa organização VOX LACI, os STOMP estiveram em S.Domingos de Rana, com mais de 350 participantes. Vassouras, baldes, caixotes de lixo, humor, energia e muito ritmo!!

Foi um workshop (1h30) aberto a TODOS os interessados (crianças, jovens e adultos) e serviu como demonstração do trabalho que este grupo extraordinário leva pelo mundo fora.

Foi uma tarde que reflecte todo o trabalho, empenho e originalidade que o VOX LACI tem. Se temos como objectivo que as pessoas levem algo para casa das nossas actuações e eventos, a alegria e entusiasmo com que as pessoas saíram deste contacto com este grupo fantástico que são os STOMP, foi a prova viva.

Tudo faremos para que venham para o ano mas ai um fim-de-semana com concerto final.
